How to Create and Share a Lookbook

Build an interactive, flipbook-style lookbook of branded product ideas, choose its layout and cover style, then share it with customers by link, email campaign, or website embed.

A lookbook is an interactive, flipbook-style catalog of product ideas that you build from your item library. You can send it to a customer as a link, wrap it in an email campaign, or embed it on your own website. Everything is set up in a single dialog, and you can come back and edit it at any time.

Create a new lookbook

  1. From the AMP dashboard, scroll down to the Campaigns & Lookbooks section.

  2. Click + New in the top right of that section.

  3. In the Create dialog, choose Lookbook.

If you have already saved a lookbook template, you can pick it from the Choose a template... dropdown instead of starting fresh.

From here you can simply click Create at the bottom to use our most popular settings. This can get you a lookbook quickly or you can further customize it as much as you want. Below is a guide explaining each section.

Choose your items

The lookbook opens on the Curate tab with a set of items already selected for you. You can work with that set, regenerate it around keywords, or search for specific items yourself.

On the Curate tab:

  • Hover over any item card to reveal three controls: Replace swaps in a different item, Block stops that item from appearing again, and Remove takes it out of this lookbook.

  • Type keywords into the Refine entire campaign with keywords field, then click Refresh Items to regenerate the whole set around those keywords.

  • Click the Shuffle items icon next to Refresh Items to reorder what you already have.

Refresh Items replaces every item currently in your lookbook. If you want to add items without losing your existing selection, use the Find & Add tab instead.

To pick items yourself, click Find & Add:

  1. Browse the category list on the left, or search by keyword or phrase at the top.

  2. Click any result to add it. The card is marked In Cart and the item appears in the Campaign Items panel on the right.

  3. Use Select All to add every result from a search, or Clear All to empty the panel and start over.

  4. Click Done to return to the Curate tab.

If you want to feature something that is not in the item library, click Create Custom Item. Give it a Title and a URL, then add pictures with Upload Images or Add from URL. The first image you add becomes the primary image.

Set the look of your lookbook

The panel on the right controls how the finished lookbook is laid out.

Lookbook Style sets the page layout:

  • Mosaic — an image-first collage with products packed edge-to-edge.

  • Standard — a roomy grid with each product on its own card, shown in full.

  • Landscape Showcase — landscape, photo-first pages with one product across the spread.

Cover Style sets the front cover:

  • Bright & Airy — a bright, editorial cover on a light canvas.

  • Immersive Collage — a full-bleed tinted collage of products.

  • Editorial Split — a hero product over a solid brand band.

Two checkboxes fine-tune the result. Group by Category, which is on by default, sorts products into labelled sections with category tabs along the edge of the pages. Hide company name & logo on front cover removes your branding from the cover, which is useful when you want the products to stand on their own.

Add a title and message

  1. Enter a Subject. This becomes the headline on the front cover and can be up to 255 characters.

  2. Enter a Message. This becomes the line underneath the headline and can be up to 1,000 characters.

  3. Check the Availability toggle. When it is set to Enabled, the lookbook can be viewed and shared. Switch it to Disabled to take it out of circulation.

A disabled lookbook cannot be shared — the share option disappears from its row until you switch Availability back on.

Save and preview

  1. Click CREATE to save the lookbook.

  2. Back on the dashboard, open the LOOKBOOKS tab in the Campaigns & Lookbooks section to find it, along with a running count of item views.

  3. Click the eye icon to Preview the finished lookbook.

The lookbook opens as an interactive flipbook. Readers can page through it, jump around using the thumbnail view, zoom, search, download it, or open it full screen.

If you expect to build similar lookbooks again, click SAVE AS TEMPLATE before creating. Give the template a name, and leave Retain Items switched on if you want the template to reuse the items you have just curated.

Share your lookbook

Click the share icon on the lookbook's row to open Share Lookbook. There are three ways to get it in front of people.

  • Email/Post — click New Campaign to build an email or social campaign that links to the lookbook. (Requires paid AMP Account to send via our AMP platform)

  • Link — copy the public link. Anyone with this link can view the lookbook, so it works well for a one-off send or a direct message.

  • Embed — copy the ready-made embed code and paste it into your own website to display the lookbook there.

Edit an existing lookbook

Click the pencil icon on any lookbook's row to reopen the same dialog with all of your settings and items still in place. Make your changes, then click SAVE CHANGES. You can also reach a lookbook's performance from here using the analytics icon, or remove it entirely with the delete icon.
